Prekindergarten Program
The Executive Office on Early Learning Public Prekindergarten Program is provided in collaboration with the Hawai’i Department of Education. The program provides high-quality learning experiences that address children’s physical development and health, social and emotional development, cognition, language and literacy, and approaches to learning.
Charter School Pre-K Program
The Charter School Pre-K Program has 18 pre-K classrooms located at Hawai’i’s charter schools. Free preschool opporunities are available on four islands: Hawai’i Island, Kaua’i, Moloka’i, and O’ahu. Instruction is available in English and ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi.
Preschool Open Doors (P.O.D.)
Monthly Preschool and Childcare Tuition Subsidy
Preschool Open Doors (POD) provides monthly preschool tuition subsidies to qualified families, up to two years prior to kindergarten. Based on monthly gross income limits and family size. The program is administered by the state’s designated referral agency, PATCH.
